Doctors with Africa Cuamm is run by a Board of Directors made up of eight members. The Bishop of Padua is president by statute. The Board and its president are responsible for directing, managing and promoting the group’s activities and all other related aspects. The executive director is responsible for the organisation and management of all the body’s activities. He or she is nominated by the Board of Directors for a fixed three year term which can be renewed. The country representatives are the organisations legal representatives in the countries where they work, and are responsible for local planning and management. The executive director proposes nominations to the Board, which has the power to appoint them and to revoke their appointments. In their operative functions, they answer directly to the executive director. The Assembly is made up of the body’s effective members, and contributes towards defining strategic direction, operative planning and project identification. In this function it offers information and develops proposals for the Board and for the executive director, and expresses an opinion on the programmes, financial statements and reports prepared by the executive director. The Assembly is called and presided over by the president, with ordinary general meetings occurring twice a year. The Coordinating Committee of Humanitarian Groups is made up of five members elected by the president and the constitutive bodies, and has the task of coordinating the activities of these groups and reconciling them with those of the central office. |
